The Rail Connection Platform of the Region of Madridejos and Consuegra, accompanied by the Defense Platform of the Public Railway of Castilla-La Mancha and the Train Stopping Platform of Mora-Orgaz, traveled in demonstration in the streets of the Alcázar of … San Juan this Saturday. The mobilization demanded the construction of the “Mora-Alcázar” section of the new Madrid-Alcázar de San Juan-Jaén line, the Madridejos-Consuegra and Mora-Orgaz stations, the Alcázar intermodal freight logistics platform and the Castilla-La Mancha railway structure.
The demonstration – framed within the framework of the National Week of Struggle for the Train – started from the station and, after crossing Álvarez Guerra and Emilio Castelar streets, ended in the Plaza de España with the interventions of Eugenio Parreño, spokesperson for the regional platform and José Damián García-Moreno, spokesperson for the PCM.
At the start of the mobilization, both made statements alongside Olvido Valero, from the Mora and Orgaz platform. García-Moreno expressed the fear of the PCM that the “bypass through Montoro” would serve to “suppress traffic to the north of Jaén, Valdepeñas, Manzanares, Alcázar and not build the Mora-Alcázar section” and stressed that the Consuegra Madridejos Platform had already addressed the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, and was awaiting a response.
The PCM does not rule out new mobilizationsin case it continues without obtaining a response from the Ministry, and calls on the company to continue defending the construction of the railway section “Mora-Orgaz – Madridejos-Consuegra – Alcázar de San Juan” and the railway as a whole, as a tool to structure the territory, guarantee its future and refresh the planet.
