A 51-year-old woman died and five other people, including a minor, had to be taken to hospital after a fire broke out last night in a house in the municipality of Palas de Rei (Lugo).
El 112 Galicia reported this month that the fire occurred in a building located in A Graña, in the parish of San Xiao do Camiño, Palas de Rei. On 6:15 a.m., one of the affected people contacted 112 to inform them that their house was on fire and that several members of their family remained inside. There, an agent was transferred to participate in health emergencies, the Bomberos de Chantada, the Grupo de Emergencias Supramunicipales de Monterroso and the Guardia Civil.

Upon arrival, Civil Guard agents warned that a person had not managed to get out of the house. Firefighters worked to put out the fire, which started in the lower part of the building and burned the wooden stand and several Christmas decorations, so a short circuit in the decorations could cause the fire.
Finally, health personnel confirmed the death of a person, located in one of the rooms. The deceased was a 51-year-old woman, Urxencias Sanitarias de Galicia-061 later informed. Five other people – a 66-year-old man, three women aged 27, 39 and 67 and a minor – were transferred to the Lucus Augusti Hospital in Lugo, suffering from humus inhalation. Three emergency ambulances and health personnel from the Palas de Rei PAC were transferred to the accident site.
