There are warnings for waves of up to 3 meters

A 7.6 magnitude earthquake shook northern Japan on Monday and, following the events, the Japan Meteorological Agency declared an alert for tsunami with waves reaching up to three meters.

The Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun announced that some of the areas for which the tsunami warning has been issued are Miyagi, Hokkaido, Aomori and Iwate.

The quake’s epicenter is located 80 kilometers from Aomori and at a depth of 50 kilometers under the sea, according to Reuters.
