MADRID, December 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning for the country’s east coast on Monday due to an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 near Aomori Prefecture.
The alert warns people on the coasts of Hokkaido and Tohoku to seek an elevated location due to the possibility of three-meter wave impact.
The earthquake was recorded around 3:26 p.m. (mainland Spain and Balearic Islands time) with a hypocenter located at approximately 50 kilometers depth.
The country’s Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, has already given instructions to the government to anticipate the evacuation of residents and provide the necessary information to those concerned about the evolution of the alert.
