Memoirs are a tricky genre because in the overwhelming majority of cases they are written with the aim of embellishing the past and justifying the author’s mistakes. I really like the genre. I keep in my library more than a hundred autobiographies ranging from Chateaubriand to Clinton. It is always interesting to know the vision that each character has of himself and the anecdotes of his life.
