Psychoanalyst José Abadi described the state of generalized exhaustion that appears in December and emphasized that it is not just a lack of energy, but constant emotional exhaustion.

— It’s as if all the energy you have to accomplish the tasks is working at reduced capacity, — he explained.
Abadi explained that while there is always social permission to relax at the end of the year, this time “we are a little more distant” because the uncertainty “has turned into a constant worry about what is going to happen, as if it could become dangerous, negative, harmful.”
According to him, this transition transforms the normal balance at the end of the year into a state of alert, tension and alarm, a circuit which “leads to greater fatigue and greater demands on oneself” and promotes the famous “professional burnout”.
Why are we exhausted at the end of the year?
Abadi warned that the current environment, saturated with stimuli, “with a continuous flow of information that overwhelms us,” increases exhaustion and affects sleep. He stressed the need to “regulate our receptivity – what, how much and at what time” – because if worries are relived before bed, the body and mind do not get enough rest.

The psychoanalyst says that exhaustion is also a warning.
— When you realize that you are exhausted, overwhelmed, insecure, with underlying dissatisfaction… that means you need to start taking care of yourself, start taking yourself into consideration, stop demanding too much of yourself, recognize your limitations, move away from the productive pathology of society — he said.
Recommendations for the end of the year
The expert suggested that the end of the year should be a time for reflection.
— The ideal is to take care of yourself and pay attention to your health every day, without waiting until the last minute, because you may no longer even have the strength to breathe — he said.
He also recommended that the check should not be carried out individually, but in groups.
— People have a duty to take care of themselves because they have the right to be happy. If you have the opportunity to be happy, you will not have chronic dissatisfaction. If you do not experience chronic dissatisfaction, dangers will not appear everywhere and you will be able to take advantage of your potential to build relationships, connect, have fun, have fun and use your imagination — he concluded.
