The poll on 2026 was one of the main reasons that prompted former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to ask the STF to obtain a point of view from the governor of São Paulo, Tárcicio de Freitas (R), “as soon as possible”.
The request was submitted by Bolsonaro’s defense to STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes on Tuesday night (11/11), hours after the Paraná Pesquisas Institute released a poll on the 2026 presidential elections.

In the poll, President Lula (Workers’ Party), the candidate for re-election, appeared to be numerically ahead of the potential candidates from the right, but he was entangled with them within the margin of error. The result encouraged right-wing leaders.

The column found that the research was discussed by Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) with the president of the PL, Waldemar Costa Neto, at a meeting on Tuesday. Flavio also met with his father to discuss the numbers.
