Judge McIntash with her defense attorney, Dario Saldano/Adrian Sosa
“Manipulative, lying. She deceived us the whole time.” These words still resonate in the ears of Judge Julieta McIntash, who is accused of committing serious irregularities in the exercise of her duties, nothing more and nothing less when she was sentencing several health workers for the death of Diego Armando Maradona, which earned her a jury and the possibility of his impeachment. But as if he were a boxer against the ropes, he raised his profile in these hours and began to play with greater force. So much so that she spoke to the press before a new hearing in La Plata and denounced the alleged perjury of the person who uttered those words that were insulting to her: Judge Maximiliano Savarino.
Based on the presentation obtained by this newspaper, which reached the office of Prosecutor Alvaro Garganta, President of UFI No. 11 of our city, McIntashe recalled that his colleague – in a hand-signed letter dated June 9, 2025 – stated that: “…10) On the first day of the session, when the oral trial began, I did not notice the people who, after the investigation, appeared secretly filming where I was, on the left side, at the back of the room, in the last or penultimate row, I did not see them, because if I had, I would have drawn their attention and prevented them from doing so (…) I did not know that there was a hidden filming for which the sole responsibility of Dr. Julieta Macintash, judge of the Criminal Court No. 2 of San Isidro…
Subsequently, he said, Dr. Savarino “also gave evidence in the jury, under oath to tell the truth, in which he repeatedly stated that he was not aware of the camera and that if he had seen it it would have caught his attention. In addition, at no time on March 11, the first session of the trial of Mr. Diego Armando Maradona, did Dr. Minisi – the court secretary – tell him anything regarding the fact of the presence of a person who was recording the debate, but days later.”
Therefore, McIntash considers that “the aforementioned contradictions allow us to confirm, sufficiently at this stage, that Dr. Savarino gave false testimony before the jury of the District of Buenos Aires.”
Given this situation, and under the representation of Attorney Dario Saldaño, the Attorney General Garganta, in order to substantiate the allegations, was requested to “require the prosecution jury to transmit the record corresponding to the hearing of November 10, 2025, at which Savarino testified; and to order the transmission of certified copies of the statement of Dr. Laura Soledad Menesi (Experience 3000-22059-2025 of the Undersecretary of State) Disciplinary Probation of the SCJBA) and includes certified copies of the brief submitted by Savarino on 9 June 2025, in Case SJ 732/25.”
She also requested that she be summoned urgently to certify this complaint and order an immediate investigation into the possibility of committing the crime of perjury.
The same request was made against Savarino by Saldaño before the members of the jury, but President Hilda Kogan rejected the proposal: “You must do it in the corresponding jurisdiction. This is not the area,” she replied, perhaps without having the information that the document had already been submitted to the duty prosecutor’s office.
Regarding conversations with colleagues, he also shared WhatsApp chats in the TOC III group, in which they had to solve administrative and daily problems.
