Fox councilor of the City Council of Béjar (Salamanca), Jonathan Sánchez, was arrested on Monday by the Civil Guard for the punishable crime of bankruptcy, sources from the Armed Institute confirmed to EFE.
The mayor of Pejarano Council was arrested because a search and detention warrant had been issued against him and he had already testified in the Bejar courts.
Punishable insolvency in the Penal Code refers to violations in which a person, whether natural or legal, who is obligated to pay a debt agreed upon with the creditor, makes a series of illegal moves to avoid paying the money owed.
Fox’s sources in Salamanca told EFE that they are currently in the information-gathering phase because this is a situation that has nothing to do with the formation itself and his position as councilor in the Béjar City Council.
The mayor of the municipality, Antonio Cámara (PSOE), expressed his complete ignorance of the case and found out thanks to the media, which is why he avoided speaking publicly.
What Bejarano’s first mayor showed was his “sadness” at the “bad image” this means for those who work for the common good of the city.
