The reason why Pattie Gonia started this challenge is precisely the first thing seen in the video post: Hegseth himself, 45, is kicking in an attempt to somehow perform a full pull-up.
It happened last August, when Hegseth and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy challenged themselves to do 50 pull-ups and 100 push-ups in less than five minutes, all surrounded by Navy and Marine Corps soldiers.
The aim was to encourage his compatriots to get fit, but what went viral were the images showing the politician’s valiant efforts, which were widely ridiculed on social media.
