Federal deputy Glauber Braga (PSol-RJ) said, after being forcibly expelled from the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies, that he had never seen “TV Câmara being cut off so that people don’t know what is happening in plenary.” Protesting against the process that would revoke his mandate for violation of decorum, Glauber demonstrated by occupying the chair of the Speaker of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), until he was removed by the legislative police officers on the orders of the House command. Look:
The psoloist occupied the chair of President of the House a few hours after Motta decided that his impeachment would be voted on. Glauber Braga compared the treatment he received from the legislative police to that reserved for deputies who demonstrated to protest the arrest of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
“I have not heard of cutting TV Câmara so that people do not know what is happening in plenary. I simply asked Motta to have with me 1% of the treatment with those who hijacked the board of directors of the Chamber”, he said, referring to the Bolsonarista riot of a few months ago.
Glauber Braga is the target of a process of losing his mandate for having expelled an MBL activist from the Chamber of Deputies in 2024. The socialist accuses the former President of the Chamber Arthur Lira (PP-AL) of being the main guarantor of the impeachment, due to the recurring criticisms that Glauber made towards Lira.
“I wanted a speech to be prepared for this moment, but until the last moment I will not fight for my mandate, but so that it does not harm democracy,” he told journalists, who were also prevented by police from remaining in the plenary session.
