National Police officers arrested a couple, a man and a woman, in the town of Elda, Alicante, as suspected perpetrators of a drug trafficking crime. The detainees were intercepted after a police check while they were in a vehicle … carry more than nine kilos of buds of marijuana hidden in the trunk.
The events occurred while a uniformed citizen security patrol was carrying out a police check in the municipality of Eldense. According to police sources, during the incident they stopped a vehicle occupied by two people who, in the presence of the police, began to show “a nervous attitude and to contradict the questions asked by the agents.”
Then, the police carried out an inspection of the vehicle and after asking the driver to open the trunk, they located a cardboard box whose interior contained various bags containing marijuana buds weighing more than nine kilograms, as detailed by the National Police in a press release.
After the discovery of the narcotic substance, officers arrested these two people for their participation in a drug trafficking offense. Additionally, the driver of the vehicle was charged with crime against road safety since his driving license was revoked.
