The Junta de Andalucía presented this Wednesday the modified project tank connection work Laundry with that of Sierra Boyera with which he expects that the Hydrographic Confederation of Guadiana (CHG) lifts its veto on this work … ultimately transform the emergency action of the Central Executive and provide three improvements: electricity with a new line, increase in pumping capacity and use of the dam tower.
The delegate of the Government of the Junta de Andalucía in Córdoba, Adolfo Molinaand the delegate for Agriculture of the Council of Andalusia of Cordoba, Francisco Acosta, were responsible for explaining the new modified construction project, which was approved on Friday by the technicians of the Andalusian administration. This same Wednesday, the Authority will formally inform both the Provincial Delegation of Cordoba, operator of the concessioned waters, and the CHG, responsible for authorizing the action.
The amended project has three main objectives. The first is to give use and operation of the pump tower of the dam, currently inactive despite emergency work by the central government. For this, two new pipes will be necessary: the pipes from the tower to the dam complex and also the extension of it from this building to the emergency works pumping station.
Budget
Likewise, the modified project envisages the increased pumping capacity water. It is currently limited to around 300 liters per second. Concretely, it aims to have a capacity of up to 600 people (even if it cannot be used in the short term because the CHG has only authorized the pumping of up to 400 people). To do this, it will have two additional pumps and a building adjacent to the first aid station to house them.
Third, the modified version of the original project also envisages the installation of a new power line to the emergency pumping system, which operates with diesel only when it is necessary to activate it. This connection will be made from El Viso via the area distributor: Los Pelayos.
Finally, an important novelty of the modified project lies in the notable savings which will occur in the budget. The final works will cost 8 million euros. There was a tender of 13, but was awarded to Jicar for 9.3. Finally, the Council will spend 1.3 million less. The reason is that the power of the two new pumps will be lower than that initially planned, since the difference in level that the pipeline will have to overcome will be lower than that initially planned (54 meters instead of the initial 300).
