The president of the Nobel Institute targeted Maduro and recognized Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia as the winner of the election
At the start of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, Jørgen Watne Frydnes, President of the Nobel Committee, pointed to “Nicolás Maduro’s regime, which violates human rights” and triggered a “brutal economic and social crisis in which only an elite in power survives with impunity, power and wealth.”
He also highlighted the role of Corina Machado and Edmundo González Urrutia, whom he recognized as the elected president of Venezuela and assured that the protocol shows him as the winner of the July 2024 elections.
