With six rounds remaining in the Brazilian Championship, the dispute over the Group of Five – which guarantees a direct place in the Copa Libertadores – remains balanced. Botafogo occupies sixth place with 52 points, while Fluminense comes in seventh place with 51. As for Vasco, which has suffered three consecutive defeats and is in tenth place with 42 points, it has little chance of reaching the classification area.
According to the Brazilian Crystal Ball tool, developed by GLOBO in partnership with UFMG, the odds of qualifying for the Copa Libertadores are 95.4% for Botafogo, 85.6% for Fluminense, and 1.6% for Vasco.
Palmeiras and Flamengo share the lead on 68 points – Alverde picked up another win – followed by Cruzeiro (64), Mirasol (59) and Bahia (53), completing the group of five.
Botafogo and Fluminense are still close in the results list and still have a strong chance of reaching the top five group. Vasco, in turn, faces a more difficult scenario, as it needs to win the majority of the remaining matches and hopes to achieve a set of positive results to continue the dream of qualifying.
In the next round, Flamengo and Fluminense will face off at the Maracanã. Botafogo hosts Sport, while Vasco visits Gremio. The results will be important in determining the chances of direct qualification to the Libertadores Cup.
