Coca-Cola announced that Brazilian Henrique Braun, 57, will assume the role of global CEO of the company on March 31, 2026.
He will replace James Quincey, who will remain executive chairman after leading the company for the past eight years.
Braun currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and oversees all of Coca-Cola’s business units worldwide.
Brazilians have dual nationality. He was born in the United States, but grew up in Brazil, where he earned a degree in agricultural engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
He holds a Master of Science degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from Georgia State University.
Braun has a long history at Coca-Cola. He joined Atlanta as an intern in 1996 and has held positions in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
These positions included supply chain, new business development, marketing, innovation, general management and bottling operations.
From 2016 to 2020, he was president of the Brazil business unit, then president of the Latin America operating unit, a position he held until 2022.
In 2024, the Brazilian was elected executive vice-president and, at the beginning of 2025, he became director of operations.
As CEO, Braun will focus on “seeking better growth opportunities around the world; the conduct of the company so that it comes even closer to the needs of consumers; and leveraging technology as a driver of business performance and growth,” Coca-Cola said in a statement released on Wednesday (12/10).
After the announcement, the new CEO said he was honored to take on the role and saw enormous growth opportunities for Coca-Cola.
“I greatly appreciate everything James (Quincey) has done to lead this company. I will focus on continuing the momentum we have built with our system. We will work to unlock future growth in partnership with our bottlers,” Braun said in a statement.
“I am excited about the future of our business and see tremendous opportunities in a rapidly evolving global market.”
