Protesters set pallets on fire to stop the flow of vehicles

A popular demonstration blocks the southern direction of Anhanguera Highway on the night of Thursday the 11th.
According to CCR, the concessionaire which manages the section, the demonstration takes place at kilometer 20 of the track, at the height of Osascoin Greater São Paulo.
According to CCR, the blockage began around 7 p.m. and caused a four-kilometer slowdown. The reason for the protest was not specified.
Firefighters were called and reported that protesters had set fires pallets of wood to stop the flow of vehicles. A vehicle was mobilized and, according to the company, there is no trace of victims.
Military police said they were monitoring the protest. “The Prime Minister guarantees the right to demonstrate and maintains dialogue with organizers to free up part of the road and minimize traffic disruption. Drivers are recommended to avoid the area,” he said in a statement.
