PT members plan to take legal action to accuse Meta, owner of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, of the disappearance of profiles of authorities and personalities in Instagram’s search system.
A meeting between the party seats in the House and Senate is scheduled for next Monday (11) to define judicial representation at the TSE (Higher Electoral Court) and the STF (Federal Supreme Court).
On social networks, users reported problems finding profiles in the search tab last Wednesday (10).
Meta said in a statement that it had investigated what happened, acknowledged that a technical problem was affecting the social network’s search system and apologized for the inconvenience.
PT members said that the failure would have occurred mainly in the profiles of left-wing politicians and drew attention to the date of the incident, the day after the approval of the PL Dosimetry and the forced dismissal of deputy Glauber Braga (PSOL-RJ) from the presidency of the Chamber.
Meta said the issue affected a wide range of accounts, including those outside the political spectrum. On Wednesday, the Mônica Bergamo column identified that right-wing profiles, such as Pastor Silas Malafaia, were also not located.
Profiles like those of Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) and Jair Bolsonaro (PL) continued to appear.
PT leaders say they fear a repeat of what happened in next year’s elections and are therefore considering calling on the TSE to monitor the networks.
They said Meta had promised to send a technical report on what happened, but the document had not yet been sent.
