Independent developer and publisher CI Games has revealed the first gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated action RPG Lords of the Fallen II, as part of The Game Awards 2025.
The new trailer, which features a cover of the song “It’s a Sin” by the famous rock band Ghost, showcases the game’s brutal combat with a variety of frightening and imposing creatures, in an expansive world characterized by its two kingdoms.
Lords of the Fallen II, currently in development, is a new Souls-like action RPG set in a human kingdom ravaged by malevolent gods, visceral magic, and unwavering defenders. A thousand years after the fall of the dark god Adyr, only one realm stands against the forces of the realm of the dead known as Umbral and its arcane master.
As the Lampbearer, players can dismember their enemies with a new dismemberment mechanic and silence them forever with all-new executions in a fast and fluid combat system. An even greater variety of enemy types and truly awesome boss fights will test even the strongest in single-player or co-op mode, with shared progression and optional PvP.
Today’s trailer reveals three fearsome bosses, including the metal-clad Heartroot Warden with his chained greatsword, the winged Koydreth attacking from his rune-engraved mirror, and the colossal dragon Lingao the Sour Storm, who wields the power of wind and lightning.
“We are excited to share this first gameplay video of Lords of the Fallen II at TGA. » said James Lowe, the game’s director, via a press release. “Designed and developed in line with our philosophy of putting players first, we’re excited to see the community’s reaction to faster, more brutal combat, significantly greater enemy variety, and even more spectacular boss encounters. And that’s just the beginning…”
Developed under Unreal Engine 5, Lords of the Fallen II will be released in 2026 on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
Lords of the Fallen Version 2.5
Alongside the Lords of the Fallen II trailer, CI Games delivered the latest major update for Lords of the Fallen, which includes:
- Reborn Bosses: Featuring faster, more concise, and aggressive combat, the game’s bosses, mini-bosses, and enemies have received numerous behavioral updates in Legacy and Veteran modes to increase the sub-like challenge. Bosses like Pieta now feature refined combos and greater move variation, while Congregator of Flesh has received less stun and a more concise pacing. Mini-bosses will put pressure on players with faster attacks, smarter positioning and cooldown logic, while common enemies will go even further with a new global cooldown system that intensifies aggression, while speeding up spell recovery and reducing attack distance.
- Veteran Mode: In addition to these upgrades, there is Veteran Mode, the ultimate test of skill and endurance. In it, many of Mournstead’s bosses have been buffed with faster transitions, new attack patterns, and even more aggressive behavior. Those who master this mode will receive a reward at the end: the Veil Veteran chest armor with a unique loot buff.
- Reforged Boss Weapons: Several boss weapons now feature new attack animations.
Version 2.5 is the culmination of over 70 updates developed with feedback from over 6 million players.
“We’ve actively listened to and engaged our community since launch. This is exactly what they asked for, and we’re excited to deliver it for free to all players – a major, final update that represents our definitive vision for Lords of the Fallen.” said CEO Maerk Tyminski.
