Next January, Parliament will continue the legislative acceleration it has carried out in recent weeks. Although January is a non-working month in which the plenary sessions of the autonomous chamber are suspended, everything indicates … that there will be an additional plenary session to approve new regulations already in progress and which are being addressed urgently.
This will be done on the basis of a request registered by the popular group, which holds the absolute majority in the Andalusian Parliament, to allow several days next January 2026 with the intention of continuing to approve laws, which is the idea of the government of Juanma Moreno.
To this end, the PP requested the holding of several extraordinary sessions in order to promote the processing of the various bills that the Council wishes to have ready before the end of the legislature since It is expected that the elections They will take place next spring, probably in June.
The idea is to organize a one-day plenary session, next January 22, 2026, to introduce the debates of all bills for the advancement of science, technology and innovation of Andalusia, the law of creation of the Professional College of Private Detectives of Andalusia and the creation of the Official College of Pedagogy and Psychopedagogy of Andalusia as well as the law of Sustainable tourism from Andalusia.
In addition to this, other sessions may also hold parliamentary committees during which other laws will be consulted by social agents. The idea is that there are Sustainability and Environment commissions January 15 for social agents to appear in the environmental management law. And that the same party also meets on January 16 to submit the Forestry Law to the same process.
Then it is also planned that a meeting of the Committee on Culture and Sports will take place. January 27 for processing the Cultural Heritage Law and another on January 30 of the Sustainability and Environment Law for processing the qualification of amendments to the articles of the Forestry Law.
Thirty
This means that the Andalusian Parliament will continue to try to approve as many bills as possible since the Council’s idea is to reach thirty before the end of the legislature.
Indeed, next week, before the plenary session which will approve the Council’s budgets for next year, the final debate on the heritage law and the proposed law on the third sector of social action will be included in the day. Something that comes after last week another “megaplenary” took place during which two regulations were definitively approved and three others transmitted the debate to the whole.
In any case, the idea of the January plenary session did not convince the opposition. This Thursday, the PSOE requested that an additional day, the 21st, be included in this plenary session in which the commission of inquiry into the “PP mafiosi” in Almería is included.
This is a decision you will have to make the permanent delegation of Parliament, the body authorized for this type of decision during non-working periods such as the month of January. In the Andalusian chamber, the new session does not begin until February.
