MADRID, December 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least seven people died and several were injured following the collapse of various installations in the north of the Gaza Strip, where a polar storm has been shaking the Palestinian enclave for days.
Five of the victims died due to the collapse of a house in Bir al Naja, Beit Lahia, while the other two were transferred to Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, after the fall of a wall near the Palestinian stadium.
This was stated by Gaza Civil Defense sources cited by the newspaper “Filastín”, who also reported several injured for the same cause, including two children in Al Amadi, west of Gaza City.
The rains caused other buildings in the same town to collapse and many people had to be evacuated from tents flooded by the storm. In this context, the Gaza Ministry of Health warned of the risk of spreading diseases, particularly in cases of respiratory problems among children, the elderly and the sick.
