Barcelona, 12. December (EFE).- The speaker of JxCat in the Chamber of Deputies, Míriam Nogueras, called this Friday on the ERC to jointly exploit the government’s “weakness” in order to “force them to make concessions that they have never been able to agree to before”.
In statements to 2Cat and Ràdio 4, Nogueras referred to the recent arrests for alleged corruption cases in a week in which the PSOE was also forced to make statements on the Salazar case.
“We must turn this deterioration of the Spanish political system into an opportunity. We must turn this weakness of the Spanish government into a strength,” emphasized the vice president of JxCat.
Nogueras has stated that this weakness could be a “historic opportunity” for the independence movement: “Instead of being seven deputies, we will be 14 and we will force them to make concessions that they have never made before,” summarized Nogueras in a direct appeal to the ERC.
Among these concessions, Nogueras mentioned the national recognition of Catalonia, a “push” that must occur “in parallel with a black week for them (the government). EFE
