Toledo, December 12 (EFE). – The President of Castile-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, lamented this Friday that politics has “become many things, a dump” and warned that “decent people” in politics have their image and self-esteem stolen and try to steal their morals.
“I’m not going to talk about one or the other, but if some turn politics into a dump, I don’t know how it is in other places, but here we send them to the trash and, if possible, to prison,” warned the regional president at the inauguration of a senior center in Tarancón (Cuenca).
The socialist, who did not mention any specific case of corruption, said that in his government they would “continue to be intransigent towards those who take their hand”. “I will never say that I did not know him, I will have made an effort to get to know him,” he assured.
García-Page said that “not even a millimeter” of corruption can be admitted, defending that in politics there are “many decent” and “noble” people who are “robbed” of “their image, their self-esteem and their morals.”
And he warned: “For me and the people who work with me, morality will not be taken away from us so easily, and of course it will never be taken away from us by those who do not know what morality is.” EFE
