The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, once again had no qualms about show your indignation at cases of corruption which affect his party, the PSOE. During an event this Friday in Tarancón, Cuenca, the regional leader … was energetic in ensuring that Politics has become a “landfill” by those who use public money for their personal benefit.
Page, visibly affected, deplored the damage that these scandals cause both to politics and to society. “It particularly hurts me that politics has become a dumping ground these days. Yes, in a trash can and I’m really sorry, because here we try to do things decently“Well, properly,” he said of Castilla-La Mancha and its government, in which, as he reiterated, “corruption is not tolerated.”
In this sense, the socialist baron made it clear that he would not tolerate a single “millimeter” of corruption within his government. “Here, we send it to the trash. And not just in the trash, if possible in prison“, he added.
Likewise, he stressed the importance of being vigilant to detect possible irregularities, in order to firmly guarantee that the Community Council of Castile-La Mancha remains free of corruption, at least during its three terms at the head of the Regional Executive. “It has been many years and as long as I have been president, we will continue to be uncompromising with those who put their hands“, he declared, specifying that there will be no tolerance for those who act dishonestly.

The regional president also stressed the need to distinguish between errors or mistakes and corrupt behavior. “Maybe I am tolerant of those who are wrong and make mistakes. Me first. But uncompromising with the one who puts his hando,” he said, to reaffirm his commitment to clean and ethical politics.
Furthermore, Page emphasized that the majority of politicians are honest people who work selflessly and sacrifice for the common good, especially in small municipalities, and he showed himself on the side of citizens, because “When someone steals what belongs to everyone, all Spaniards feel robbed.”
In this way, the socialist leader assured that corruption affects not only the assets of society, but also the morale and self-esteem of politicians who believe in it as a tool for change. “They steal our image, they steal our self-esteem and they are trying to steal our morale,” he lamented.
Teaching the elderly
Finally, the president recalled the lessons his parents passed on to him on morality and honesty in life and in politics. In a message of hope and resistance, Page made clear that, despite attempts at demoralization, “Morality is not going to be easily taken away from us» and promised that he and his team would continue to work with the integrity that has always characterized them.
“There are a lot of people trying to undermine our morale and discourage us. But morale is not going to be easily taken away from me and the people who work with me,” he concluded.
