The sample offers an artistic and symbolic journey through Mudejar ceramicstracing a route that unites three fundamental enclaves of peninsular history: the Aljafería of Zaragoza, the Alcázar of Seville and Park Güell of Barcelona. According to the ceramist’s latest works Fernando Maló —Stages of the Aljafería, Trencadís Mudéjar and Mudéjar S. XXI—, the exhibition offers an in-depth reflection on the permanence of the Andalusian heritage in contemporary material culture.
In this sense, the delegate of Tourism and Culture, Angie Morenoemphasized that the exhibition “highlights the richness of Mudejar ceramic heritageshowing its validity and symbolic force in current creation. Likewise, he emphasized that “IFernando Malo’s work invites us to look at the past as a living source of inspirationcapable of generating new aesthetic languages and building bridges between the territories and traditions that we share throughout the Iberian Peninsula.
Malo, one of the great Aragonese ceramists and a national reference in the recovery and reinterpretation of historical heritage, presents pieces in Seville that combine ancestral techniques and contemporary conceptual approaches. His career is closely linked to the restoration of monuments such as the Aljafería, the Alhambra or the Seo de Zaragoza.an experience that is reflected in his rigorous, sensitive and poetic approach to ceramic materials.
“The exhibition allows us to travel through centuries of history through a dialogue between tradition and modernityin which ceramics becomes a cultural bridge that unites territories, memories and ways of understanding beauty”, said Angie Moreno, who added that “from the Tourism and Culture Space we continue to support artisanal and contemporary creation, consolidating spaces such as the Triana Ceramic Center as references for the dissemination, research and exhibition of Spanish ceramic art”.
