Judge Dana agreed to summon as a witness the national leader of the PP, Alberto Nuñez Feijóoin the criminal case investigating the management of the ravine on October 29, at the request of the private prosecution of the Association of … Fatal victims Dana 29-0, for his communications with Carlos Mazón and for uttering the following statement two days after the tragedy: “The ‘president’ of the Generalitat, since last Monday, has been informing me in real time.”
The instructor, in a new order notified this Friday and in possession of ABCjustifies his decision by the fact that this witness, the national president of the PP, could “motivate the comments” that the president of the Generalitat Valenciana at the time, Carlos Mazón, could have “made” to him on October 29, 2024 “following the conversations” with the Minister of Justice and Interior at the time, Salomé Pradas, investigated in this preliminary procedure, “on the information he received“.
The judge recalls in her resolution the criteria used by the Valencia court in ordering the summons as a witness of the journalist who ate with Mazón, Maribel Vilaplana. Thus – she emphasizes – if in this case we start from an open letter of the aforementioned communication in which “she denied any knowledge of what Mazón could have said”, the judge expresses that “we find ourselves here, not with a probability, but with a certaintywhich arises from the following public statements made by Feijóo: “The President of the Generalitat, since last Monday, informed me in real time’», which were recorded and broadcast on October 31, 2024 by RTVE, the company from which the images and sound were requested.
The resolution provides that the leader of the PP be informed of “the possibility” of voluntarily presenting himself to this procedure and within five days call listas well as messages, emails and WhatsApp which he was able to receive from Mazón on October 29, 2024, in relation to the subject of this case.
Thus, it insists as basis and foundation that the order of October 16, 2025 of the Provincial Court of Valencia, indicated the relevance of the procedure aimed at clarifying the deliberation and decision process that was followed during the Cecopi meeting of the afternoon of October 29, 2024, which indirectly includes the entourage of Mazón’s management and his closest entourage.
This order indicated that the president had the status of highest authority of the Generalitat Valenciana and president of the Consell, and to whom is attributed -art. 1 of Law 5/1983 of December 30 of the Valencian Government, functions of direction and coordination, so that it can give instructions to the members of the Consell -art. 12 of Law 5/1983.
Therefore, taking into account the “certainty” of the statements attributed to Feijóo of having been informed “in real time” by Mazón, the judge hopes that the national president of the PP will be able to explain the comments of the former head of the Consell on the data he was receiving. The latter, insists the diligence, “is the logical consequence” of the aforementioned public statements, given that “information about the seriousness of the situation would have come largely from Pradas to Mazón, and the latter would have informed Feijóo, in the latter’s words, in real time.”
