Actress Carol Garcia, who plays Elize Matsunaga in the Prime Video series Tremembé, spoke about the production’s upcoming season, which depicts the daily lives of some of the country’s most notorious criminals in the “prison of the famous.”
So far, the platform has not yet released official information on the direction of the story. What we already know is the inclusion of a new character: former player Robinho, sentenced to nine years in prison for participation in a gang rape case.
In an interview with MetropolisesCarol confirmed she would return to the show, but said she had not yet had access to the script. Even with the atmosphere of mystery, the actress showed her enthusiasm for continuing the project.

“We know that filming will take place in the first half of the year, but we still don’t have a firm date, nor concrete forecasts. The truth is that I’m very curious to know what they are going to do in the script for the second season. I sent a message to Ullisses Campbell (writer of the series), I asked him, and he didn’t tell me. He said it was a secret,” he said.
“I’m desperate to know, but I’m sure they are planning something very special, because they are a very well-led, committed and enthusiastic team. They are excited about this second season, so it gives the feeling that good things are coming,” he added.

When asked what else Tremembé could explore in Elize’s case, the actress said she would like to see the trial depicted in the plot.
“There are many layers to Elize’s life. There’s everything that happened before the crime that the show doesn’t show, there’s the crime itself. And, in the first season, we mainly showed the period of imprisonment. But, for example, the whole process of the trial was something that I really wanted to see represented.”

The Crime of Elize Matsunaga
During the conversation, Carol Garcia also spoke about the crime committed by Elize Matsunaga, convicted of the murder and dismemberment of her husband, businessman Marcos Kitano Matsunaga, director of Yoki, in 2012. At the time, she claimed self-defense.
After Tremembé’s release, the debate on the conviction and cases of femicide in Brazil was revived. This year alone, more than 1,100 women have been victims of this type of crime in the country. The information comes from the Senate website.
“Elize’s case is getting a lot of attention because, in fact, it’s a brutal crime. She killed and dismembered a person. But I remember, during the filming of Tremembé, an extra told me that a similar case had happened to his neighbor that same week – only this time the victim was the woman. And this man was free. He killed and dismembered the woman and he was still at large,” he reflected.

“All this reveals a very complex and deep debate. But, with the number of crimes that have been revealed in recent days, I believe that we are talking more about this subject and, who knows, this will help to promote more effective public policies to protect women,” he added.
In recent weeks, a series of cases of violence against women have once again shocked the country. Among them is Tainara Souza Santos, 31, who had both legs amputated after being run over and dragged for about a kilometer by her ex-partner.
Another brutal episode was that of Isabelle Gomes de Macedo, 40, whose house was set on fire by her partner while she and her four children, aged 1 to 7, were inside. The woman and children burned to death.
Career
After her success in Tremembé, Carol revealed the next steps in her career. The actress highlighted her passion for soap operas and revealed that she wants to take part in more series.
“Doing soap operas is always very enjoyable, isn’t it? I’ve done two complete soap operas and I participated in Amor Perfeito, which was a big participation, but still a participation. I would love to do soap operas again, but I’m also very interested in series, in deepening the characters with longer preparation,” he said.
“I’m also a fan of theater, aren’t I? I love the stage. I’m writing a play. I don’t have anything yet – I don’t have sponsors, I don’t have a team – I just have my courage and a computer to write. But it’s a very strong desire to return to the theater,” she concluded.
