Musician Clemente Nascimento, 62, of Inocentes e da Plebe Rude, underwent emergency heart surgery this Friday afternoon (12) after feeling unwell in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, where he was supposed to give a show.
According to an official note from the family and the two groups, he did not feel well on Thursday evening (11) and was admitted to the city’s Santa Casa. According to the note, the operation was complex and the artist is recovering.
“We ask for understanding and privacy at this time and sincerely appreciate all expressions of support and positive energy. Further information will be released as soon as possible,” the statement said.
Clemente is a pioneer of punk in Brazil. In addition to being a singer and guitarist, he is a DJ, producer, presenter and actor. He founded Inocentes in 1981 and has been part of Plebe Rude since 2004.
He began his career in 1978, in the group Restos do Nada, as bassist, in Vila Carolina, in São Paulo. Until 1980 he was also part of the Condutores de Cadaver group.
