Head of the intensive care unit at the Evangélico Hospital in Curitiba, she rose to prominence when she was arrested on suspicion of hastening the deaths of more than 300 patients between 2011 and 2013. According to the accusations, Virgínia administered drugs and changed the settings of respirators to hasten the end of life. Over the course of three episodes, the series will revisit the facts that surrounded the public unrest and the widespread media coverage and will follow two narrative lines on the crime: that of the prosecution and that of the defense.
The plot will delve into the doctor’s journey, the factors that led to the accusations against her and the reconstruction of the events through previously unpublished testimonies. There is no premiere date yet.
