The automaker will have four launches in 2026 and is prioritizing the construction of its own factory
Omoda Jaecoo has achieved nine months of sales of its high-end vehicles in the country. For 2026, the strategy is to accelerate growth with the launch of Omoda4a more affordable model which will be the entry point for the brand.
“I would really like this car to be made in Brazil,” says Roger Corassa, who takes over as the company’s executive vice president in the country in January. Its priority challenge will be to establish the company’s local production.
Despite the wish, however, the executive does not confirm that the Omoda 4 will be the first locally manufactured model. “It is premature to say this, because we still need to define what our local assembly will look like and understand whether it makes sense to start from this model,” he says.
Corassa also says its main goal is to allow the automaker to have its own factory, instead of licensing assembly to third parties or sharing space with other brands.
Omoda 4: competitive price and thermal engine option
The vice president promises that the Omoda 4 will arrive with an “aggressive price”. The model measures 4.4 meters long, a dimension that positions it between the compact and medium SUV segments.
“This is a more basic car in our range, with a simpler trim level, but with a strong appeal in terms of space and interior and exterior design,” explains Leandro Teixeira, product manager of the company.
To increase the competitiveness of Omoda 4, the company plans to offer an option with combustion engine. Currently, Omoda Jaecoo only sells electrified cars in Brazil, but the company is investing 15 million reais in China to develop thermal propulsion units focused on flexible technology for the national market.
“We are working on all the possibilities,” Corassa says of the engine options.
According to the executive, in higher segments it makes sense to focus the portfolio on electric and hybrid vehicles, as this is an offering that the premium customer is looking for and can afford. In entry-level categories, he emphasizes, the flex-fuel vehicle remains competitive, whether purely thermal or in a hybrid version.
Omoda 5, Omoda 7 and Jaecoo 8 also arriving in 2026
At the beginning of 2026, the company will begin to offer hybrid Omoda 5which is already on presale for R$160,000. THE Omoda 7 is also arriving, with prices starting at R$255,000, as indicated on the company’s website.
Another novelty is the Jaécoo 8a plug-in hybrid that promises more than 600 hp of power. This is the only one of the new models that is not yet listed on the brand’s website.
Omoda Jaecoo promises to grow in a structured way, with a focus on customer service and experience. To achieve this, the automaker must end 2025 with 70 dealerships. The plan for 2026 is to expand the network to major cities outside the capitals, aiming to reach 100 points of sale.
