The under-15 match between Ceará and Fortaleza, valid for the Seromo Cup final, ended with yet another case of racism in football. The athlete Moisés, from Vozão, was the victim of racist insults at the end of the match. After the affair, the young man recounted what happened and regretted his rival’s attitude:

“In today’s match against the @fortalezaec team in the @copaseromo final, at the end of the match we had lost on penalties, the match ended 0-0, when our player missed the last penalty, the Fortaleza players went to celebrate and rightly so, but the Fortaleza number nine said the following phrase “AND MACAC@ KRL CHAMPION
“How long we black people have to put up with this RACISM AND CRIME and justice will be served is another thing I am very proud of as a black person. My cry was not of sadness but of anger but God knows all, and thank you to everyone who is with me #enoughracism,” Moisés wrote on social media.

“Big monkey”: a child is the target of racism during a football match in DF
The moment came after the end of the penalty shootout that crowned Fortaleza champions of the competition. Moisés would have been called a “monkey” by the number 9 of Fortaleza.
Ceará denied what happened, called the conduct unacceptable and said it did not tolerate any form of discrimination. The club also informed that it would adopt all appropriate measures and take the matter to the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) to investigate and sanction those responsible.
