
The Amazonas Civil Police (PCAM) are looking for a man suspected of torturing and killing his stepson aged one year and eight months. The man has been identified as Luciano da Costa Palheta (featured photo), age unknown.
According to delegate Kássia Evangelista, from the Specialized Commission for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (Depca), the investigation began after medical examinations revealed several injuries on the child, which aroused the suspicions of the health professionals who reported the case.
The child was taken to the hospital by her mother and maternal grandmother, who reported that she was experiencing symptoms of fatigue after spending the night alone with her stepfather.
He underwent surgery, but died seven days after being admitted to hospital.
Luciano is wanted for the crime of capital homicide and torture.
PCAM informed that information on the suspect’s location can be transmitted anonymously by calling (92) 99962-2441, the Depca hotline; 197 and (92) 3667-7575 of PC-AM; or 181 from the Secretariat of Public Security of Amazonas (SSP-AM).
The identity of the informant will remain confidential.
