A nurse identified as Ana Beatriz Cavalcante (featured photo)29 years old, was shot dead Friday evening (12/12). The main suspect in the crime is a military police officer, a former companion of the victim. He was involved in an accident while trying to flee the scene of the crime, which occurred in Penedo (AL).
In the column, the Alagoas Military Police (PMAL) informed that a garrison of the 11th Battalion was called by members of the public to respond to an incident of feminicide. On site, the police found the body of Ana Beatriz, suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to witnesses, the crime was committed by the victim’s ex-spouse, a military police officer, who did not accept the end of the relationship.
According to reports, the perpetrator had an accident while fleeing, leaving his car completely destroyed. The Prime Minister also said he was rescued by an unidentified vehicle and managed to escape.
The company emphasized that information on the suspect’s whereabouts can be transmitted anonymously via the Hotline (181).
“Irreparable loss”
The Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Penedo published a note of condolence for the death. Ana Beatriz was a nurse at the regional hospital.
“She was a dedicated professional, known for her commitment to the care of others, her ethical practice of nursing and the respect with which she treated patients, her colleagues and the entire hospital community. Her early departure leaves an irreparable void among family, friends and colleagues,” the statement said.
The institution also declared that it rejects all forms of violence, particularly violence against women. “May Ana Beatriz Cavalcante be remembered for her dedication to health and caring for others.”
