The president of the court of first instance for gender violence in Molina de Segura (region of Murcia, 77,500 inhabitants) decreed this Friday the entry into temporary prison of a plastic surgeon accused of having raped a patient in the hospital, while she was anesthetized, pending intervention. The sexual assault took place last December 4 at the IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta private hospital, in Murcia, which clarified in a statement that the doctor detained and sent to prison was not part of the center’s list, but that he used a chirophane to intervene with a client of his private clinic, a common practice in cosmetic surgery centers.
Among the nurses who were part of the medical team of the private hospital and who helped with the operation, there were testimonies of assault: an “abnormal behavior” presented itself to the doctor, even though the doctor made movements with the patient consistent with sexual assault and recorded them with his cell phone. They were the ones who brought the rumor to the attention of the hospital management and who filed a complaint with the National Police, who refused to give more details on this matter.
