Shopee has sold 20 million products, and said it broke the record for traffic on the app on Tuesday, 11.11, the year’s main promotion date. The company had already reported that as of 12 noon yesterday, sales had surpassed last Black Friday sales.
According to the platform, there has been “significant growth” in the purchase of higher value-added items. Among the categories that achieved the greatest sales growth compared to last year were computers and accessories (+120%), home appliances (+60%), and market products, sports, and mobile phones (all three with a 20% increase). But the best-selling product was the hair treatment, with more than 20,000 units sold.
In a report released today, based on preliminary data on Shopee’s 11.11, BTG Pactual has already noted a growth trend in the sale of higher value-added products.
“One of the main highlights was the increase in sales of higher value categories, which have historically been less represented in ‘cross-border’ markets. Home appliances represented more than 10% of the total GMV (general sales value) in the first half of the day, rising two places compared to the 2024 ranking,” the report said.
Among payment methods, credit cards were the preferred method, accounting for more than 50% of transactions, surpassing PEX (39%).
