MADRID, December 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this Saturday that the army killed in an airstrike what is considered the second leader of the Palestinian movement Hamas militias in Gaza: the head of the operational division of the Ezzeldin al Qassam Brigades, Raad Saad.
Saad was hit by a projectile while traveling in a vehicle near the Nabulsi crossing, southwest of Gaza City, with three other people, who also died. Hamas limited itself to confirming the attack on the vehicle, “a civilian car targeted by Zionist aircraft”, which represents “another criminal violation of the ceasefire agreement”.
In its statement, Netanyahu’s office assures that “Saad was one of the architects of the October 7 massacre and is currently involved in the reconstruction of the terrorist organization, planning and executing attacks against Israel and reconstituting a strike force, in flagrant violation of the ceasefire rules and Hamas’ commitments to respect President Trump’s plan.”
The deceased commander was considered the right-hand man of the current leader of Hamas militias in the Palestinian enclave, Izz al Din Haddad.
Netanyahu also said the attack on Saad was carried out in retaliation for an ordnance blast that injured two Israeli soldiers on Gaza’s Yellow Line, which demarcates current Israeli army positions in the enclave.
