Clemente Nascimento, a member of the bands Inocentes and Plebe Rude, underwent emergency heart surgery after feeling unwell before a concert.
The artist was going to perform in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, on Friday afternoon (12/12), when he fell ill and had to be taken to the hospital.
In a statement posted on social media, the groups reported that Clemente is doing well and recovering. So far, no details about the clinical condition or planned discharge have been disclosed.
“We ask for understanding and privacy at this time and sincerely appreciate all expressions of support and positive energy. New information will be released as soon as possible,” the text reads.
A reference in Brazilian punk and rock, Clemente founded the group Inocentes in 1981 and has been part of Plebe Rude since 2004. In addition to his musical career, he works as a producer, radio host and cultural articulator, maintaining a committed and influential trajectory for more than four decades.
