The Governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), announced that he would sell the Administrative Center of the Federal District (Centrad). The structure that was supposed to house the GDF organizations cost the public coffers around 1 billion reais, but was never occupied.
Covering an area of 182 thousand square meters, the structure remained closed for more than a decade. This Saturday (13/12), Ibaneis described the project of former governor José Roberto Arruda as “trash”. “We are going to sell the Centrad building, which was an illusion of Arruda’s megalomaniac. We are going to obtain authorization from the Legislative Chamber and sell this garbage invented by Arruda,” the governor said.

Ibaneis made this statement during the inauguration of the new building of the Office of the Attorney General of the Federal District (PGDF). The governor informed that the proceeds from the sale of Centrad will be used to invest in the municipal square near the Palácio do Buriti.
“We want to transform the lives of public servants here, throughout this region. I think it works much better and is much nicer for our capital,” he added.

“He who governs is he who is elected”
The new headquarters of the PGDF is located near the Buriti Palace and the Federal District Court of Auditors (TCDF). Ibaneis thanked the agency’s employees for their work and said that without the Attorney General’s Office, the Federal District could not be administered.
“Here, the judiciary wants to send more and the public prosecutor (wants to send) more than the government. And I taught them, with the support of the prosecution, that those who govern are those who are elected,” he said.
