Two American soldiers and a civilian interpreter died this Saturday in an “ambush perpetrated by a lone gunman from the Islamic State” (Daesh) in Syria, according to a press release from the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).
CENTCOM reported that three other soldiers were injured and the attacker was killed.
As Sean Parnell, the Pentagon’s main spokesperson, detailed on his networks, the attack occurred in the province of Palmira while the military was holding a meeting with local leaders.
