Ahead of the final between Estudiantes de La Plata and Racing Club, a hotel in Termas de Río Hondo became an example of coexistence between fans of both teams, sharing spaces, conversations and expectations without incident.
On the one hand, a fan of Estudiantes de La Plata, who arrived by car from Quilmes, agreed with the positive climate that exists in the city. “We come with great expectation and confidence. I already knew the stadium from other finals and it is beautiful,” he said while sharing the same hotel and common areas with the opposing team’s fans.
“No problem. Today is a party for everyone,” summarized the racing fan who had traveled from Avellaneda, who had traveled by bus with his children to experience the decisive game. “I hope the academy wins, but it has to be a party for everyone, as it should always be,” he added, while emphasizing the climate of calm and good treatment among fans.
The academic fan said it was his first time in Santiago del Estero and praised both the scenery and the local hospitality: “The day is beautiful, the people are spectacular. Everything from ten so far.” He even dared to make a prediction: 2 to 0 for Racing.
The scene, which is repeated in different parts of the city, reflects an earlier scene characterized by respect and coexistence: fans of both clubs shared a hotel, a swimming pool and football talk – a sign that football can also be experienced as a party without violence.
