
Criminals armed with guns stopped traffic and fired into the air on Rua Leopoldo Bulhões, near Manguinhos, north of Rio de Janeiro, on Friday (12/12). The action occurred during the escape of suspects from a police operation. Watch:
According to the civil police, the group was trying to escape an action by the police station for capital and merchandise theft (DRFC), which resulted in the rescue of a kidnapped truck driver. The hostage was at Rua Carlos Chagas, near a football field, in the Varginha area, within the Manguinhos complex, and was not injured.
During the same operation, officers recovered the stolen truck and the load of meat transported by the victim, worth almost a million reais. According to police, there were intense clashes during the action, but no residents of the area were injured.

Prisoners
Two men were arrested. Ronaldo Ferreira Correa, 44, and Lucas Gabriel Costa Ferreira, 19, had outstanding arrest warrants and were considered fugitives from the Levy Gasparian district of Três Rios.
Ronaldo had a preventive arrest warrant for murder, issued in 2024, as well as five criminal records.
Lucas had two arrest warrants, also from 2024, for robbery and murder, and two criminal notes for the same crimes.
