The FundPlata Foundation prepared the usual monthly report on the variation of the food basket in the city of La Plata – consisting of butcher, warehouse and greengrocer products – which showed 1.2% in November 2025.
The survey, conducted in 18 companies in the capital Buenos Aires with public sales of the three items and covering 26 products, was carried out in the fourth week of October 2025 in 13 neighborhoods of the city and found that the item recorded the largest increase in butcher products, at 6.9%; followed by warehouses at 1.2%; and at greengrocers with -15.2%.
“In terms of food in particular, onions (11.9%), pork breast (9.5%), chicken (9.4%) and special minced meat (8.0%) recorded a significantly above-average increase,” explained FundPlata.
Likewise, the report highlights: “This La Plata food basket cannot be directly compared with the CPI food basket and the corresponding CABA, since the latter are more extensive, but this exercise can give us a guide to the evolution of food prices in general and certain food products in particular that make up the three baskets.”
In this framework, it was reported that “from the comparative analysis of both baskets, it appears that the one corresponding to the GBA games showed an increase of 2.4% compared to September, while in our city there was an increase of 1.9%.”
