The suspect of filming registered this Saturday on the campus of Brown University in the city of Providencein the state of Rhode Islandwas arrested, as confirmed by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
“I have been informed of the shooting at Brown University in Rhode Island. The FBI is on scene. The suspect is arrested. “God bless the victims and their families!” Trump announced this in a message on his social network, Truth Social.
The university confirmed that the “continuing situation” more than an hour after the first alert.
“There’s an active shooter near Barus & Holley. Brown and Providence police are on scene. Stay safe for now,” the university warned in an alert sent to students.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether there were any injuries or deaths, but the university said emergency medical services were on scene. The study center coordinates with “several police services on site”.
