In the last few hours, Alejandro Piedrahíta’s departure from Gimnasia has been confirmed and, almost at the same time, his surprise arrival in Bulgarian football. Although it was already clear that the Colombian winger would not continue with Lobo, the speed with which he found a new destination was astonishing: Bulgaria’s CSKA announced his inclusion via their social networks with the news “Welcome Alejandro! CSKA signs winger Alejandro Piedrahíta”.
The chosen course caused surprise as the footballer indicated that he wanted to return to Colombia for personal reasons. In any case, Gimnasia did not plan to execute the purchase option for its passport – owned by Deportivo Pereira – worth $500,000 for 80% of the token.
During his stay at the La Plata club, the attacker’s performances fluctuated. Apart from gaining continuity at the end of the championship and owning some moves, he did not manage to score goals with the Albiazul jersey, although he contributed some assists.
His departure will make one of the first injured players from the squad official and more names will be added to the list in the coming weeks.
