Montevideo, December 13 (EFE). – Former defender Mathías Corujo became the new coach of the Uruguayan Montevideo Wanderers this Saturday.
Corujo, a regular for the Uruguayan team between 2014 and 1017, will next year be at the helm of the team where he began his professional career in 2005.
He previously coached Bella Italia and Oriental, two teams competing in promotion leagues.
After making his debut as a full-back for the Wanderers, Corujo played for Peñarol.
In his coaching career, he also managed Paraguayan clubs Cerro Porteño and Sol de América, Argentina’s San Lorenzo and the University of Chile.
In the 2025 Uruguayan League, Montevideo Wanderers had Antonio Pacheco, Juan Manuel Martínez, Alejandro Apud and Daniel Carreño on the bench.
El Bohemio finished fourteenth in the cumulative annual table, so they will start 2026 very committed in the relegation table and will have to add a lot of points to maintain the category. EFE
