In a game with a lot of tricks, looks, arguments and cards, Sesi Bauru beat Guarulhos BateuBet by 3 sets to 2 – partials of 26-28, 25-23, 19-25, 25-19, 34-32, this Saturday evening (13/12), at the Paulo Skaf gymnasium, in Bauru (SP), for the tenth round of the Volleyball Superliga Male. 2025/26.
The result saw Sesi move from eighth to seventh place. This result gives further momentum to Anderson Rodrigues’ side to complete the G8 round of competition and secure a place in the Copa Brasil. The best scorers of the match were those of Guarulhos: against Bryan and the pointer Armoa, both with 29 hits. Opposite Marcos was Sesi Bauru’s top scorer: 26 points. The VivaVôlei trophy went to setter Bender, who came off the bench in the third set and commanded the comeback.
Highlights from the bank
Guarulhos dominated most of the first set, making the score 24-21, but saw Sesi Bauru react, turn around and take the set point at 25-24. The hosts had even celebrated the victory at 27-25, but video monitoring indicated a touch on the block and tied the match. Guarulhos scored two consecutive points to close the match at 28 to 26.
Trailing 2-1, Sesi coach Anderson Rodrigues eliminated Guiga and Vaccari and put Pedro and Luiz Fernando on the field. The double and the passer Bender, who replaced Juan, gave more aggression to the home team and the match ended in a tie-break. The fifth set was emotional. Sesi Bauru made it 10 to 7, but the Argentinian Armoa, in a superb service pass, transformed the game to 11 to 10. From then on, the two teams exchanged advantages and match points until Pedro blocked Armoa to close in a historic 34 to 32.
Sesi Bauru will play again on Wednesday (17/12) against Itambé Minas, in Belo Horizonte (MG), a direct confrontation for the G8. Guarulhos hosts Joinville on Saturday (20/12), at 6:30 p.m., in Guarulhos (SP).
