Madrid, December 12 (EFE). – The House of Representatives will open the Lions Gate this Friday on the occasion of the 30th edition of the Open Days, organized as part of the Constitution Day events on December 6th and lasting until Saturday.
In addition, this year will also mark the 40th anniversary of Spain’s accession to the European Communities through an exhibition showing documents from this process, which ended on January 1, 1986.
On these days, celebrated since 1997, citizens who have booked an appointment have the opportunity to pass through the famous bronze door, reserved for special occasions such as ceremonial acts presided over by the King and the opening sessions of the Cortes Generales of each legislative period.
The visit begins in the lobby of Isabel II, where you can see a copy of the Constitution of 1812 drawn up by the Cortes of Cadiz, and continues in the conference hall, known as the Hall of the Lost Steps, where institutional visits and official receptions take place.
Visitors will then have access to the Plenary Hall, the scene of the plenary sessions of the Congress, and can then continue the tour in the Gallery of Portraits of the Presidents of Congress, in the Constitution Room and in the Ernest Lluch Room, ending in the Cedaceros Lobby.
The sessions can be followed live on the Congress website and Parliament Channel as well as on YouTube. In addition, you can get to know the plenary hall through a virtual tour that allows each user to enter the palace through a personalized guided tour in augmented reality. EFE
