Although announced and included in the preliminary studies of the PAC, the BRT system planned in Águas Lindas de Goiás, on the outskirts of the Federal District, will no longer be implemented.
The official replacement with the railway model was confirmed by André Oliveira, CEO of the development company Águas Lindas (Codeal). According to him, the municipal government’s guideline is to migrate to a mode of greater capacity and sustainability by 2026.
The proposal being developed involves the participation of Chinese companies, including PCI Technology Group, a leader in artificial intelligence and solutions for smart cities, security and urban mobility, known for creating the first smart station in China.
The line is expected to establish direct integration with the Ceilândia Metro and form a rail corridor between Luziânia and Brasília, expanding connectivity in the surrounding areas.
The journey between Águas Lindas de Goiás and Ceilândia will be carried out via a 22 km long rail system, going directly to the Goiás integration terminal.

Within the Federal District, the train will make two stops before reaching the Ceilândia metro extension, thus ensuring integration with the capital’s transportation network.
Each train will have a capacity of 1,200 passengers, consisting of 4 to 8 cars, depending on the configuration.
The project is expected to serve up to 150,000 passengers per day, a number close to the current capacity of the DF metro, which carries around 180,000 people per day.
The rail route that will connect Luziânia (GO) to the Federal District has a total length of 62 km. The railway line will cross four municipalities along the route: Luziânia, Cidade Oeste, Valparaíso de Goiás and Brasília (DF).
In this case, the National Agency for Land Transport (ANTT) informs that the procedures for this route are carried out by the public company Infra SA, linked to the Ministry of Transport.
