Police’s primary investigation is that two shooters provoked the attack. However, one of them died during the crime and the other is in serious condition. Two other people were taken into custody. The matter is under investigation.
“The attack was planned to target the Sydney Jewish community on the first day of Hanukkah,” New South Wales Premier Chris Minns said.
A spokesperson told the Reuters news agency that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had described the images as “shocking and aggressive” and that rescue teams were still working at the scene.
