After six years in the group, Formula 1 returns to Globo in 2026. The category, which has remained in the Marinho family channel for almost 50 years, will be broadcast on TV Globo, Sportv and on the group’s digital platforms, according to a multiplatform model with exclusive broadcasting rights between 2026 and 2028.
As previously confirmed, TV Globo will only live stream 15 of the 24 major awards. The other nine will be broadcast in a compact format, with an alternate schedule. For fans wishing to follow the races in real time, they will be broadcast on alternative channels.
According to the official 2026 calendar published by Formula 1, almost all races of the season will take place on Sunday, with the exception of Azerbaijan. The Baku grand prix will take place on Saturday September 26, due to a national holiday.
The season promises big news, with the introduction of new circuits and the transition to the use of 100% sustainable fuels in cars. The entry of two new teams on the grid, the American Cadillac and the Audiwho understands Brazilian Gabriel Bortoletoshould also liven things up.
How to watch?
Last week, TV Globo released its official Formula 1 calendar for 2026, including the list of races that will be broadcast live on television. The absence of nine GPs in the catalog, however, means two months without the sport on the main channel. This gap has worried some fans of the category and raised doubts about where it will be possible to watch the entire championship.
With Formula 1 superfans in mind, Globo decided that Sportv would live stream all 24 stages, as well as every practice, qualifying and sprint session. The content will also be broadcast on Globoplay and will receive extensive coverage in the broadcaster’s sports and news programs.
The broadcaster has also created a special reporting team that will be present at all stages of the 2026 championship. With journalists spread across the globe, each continent is expected to have its own representative during reporting.
